The text is entitled –Moscow. It points out that the history of Moscow dates back to 1147 and since then the city has always had a leading place in the life of the whole country/ The city was founded by Prince Yuri Dolgoruky. 1147 is considered to be the official date of the foundation of Moscow. It’s reported that in the late 12th century it became a market town and the Moskva River was an important trade route at that time. According to the text in the 13th century the town was totally destroyed because of the Tatar Invasion The transfer of the capital to St. Petersburg in 1712 by Peter the Great was a period of decline in the history of Moscow. It is noted that in autumn 1941 the nazi armies were only a few kilometers away from the city but they were also defeated. And in the 19th century Moscow became the leading political, scientific and cultural as well as industrial centre.
It’s important to say that Moscow is the centre of science and education. There are many higher educational establishments, technical colleges, the Academies of music and art and a lot of research and project institutions.
One must mention that Moscow is the leading cultural centre of Russia. There are about 65 art, history and science museums in the city. It looks like out-of-doors museum. It has about 1120 architectural monuments and the Russian State Library is one of them.
It is stressed that Moscow is also a sport centre. There are many sport-grounds, stadiums and swimming pools in the city. It is mentioned that Moscow’s metro is the most beautiful and cleanest in the world in brief.
It is mentioned about places of interest. There are 20 towers on the Kremlin wall which give it a unique appearance. It is important to say that the oldest tower is the Tainitskays Tower which was built in 1485, the highest of the towers is the Troitskaya Tower, 85 m tall, but the most famous is the Spasskaya Tower. It has a famous clock.
I can’t but say about cathedrals. The largest cathedral, the Uspenski was built by Aristotle Fiorovante in 1475-1479. It was there that the Russian tsars and emperors were crowned. And the Archangel Cathedral was built in 1505 by the Italian architect Aleviso Novy.
It appears that Granovitaya Palata is another masterpiece in the Kremlin. It contains unique specimens of Russian and foreign applied art, royal regalia, and gifts from ambassadors.
It’s noted that Red square is one of the most beautiful places in the world.
It is important to say that the Bolshoi Theatre, an impressive building with the famous quadriga of Apollo on the top, was built in 1825. Many outstanding singers including Shalyapin, Nezdhanova and famous dancers such as Ulanova, Plisetskaya and others performed there.
I can’t but say that Tretyakov Art gallery is one of the world’s richest museum, a treasure-house of the finest works of Russian art from the 11th century to the present day.
In conclusion I’d like to say that Moscow is the most important city in Russia with a rich history. And I proud that Moscow is the capital of our country.

Где мало слов, там вес они имеют.
